I thought it was going to rain but I didn’t care anyway as we set up shop in Timothy Hackworth Park to raise money for the Community Garden at the Local Motion Summer Festival. We sold produce from the garden and other allotments and Simon entertained the youngsters with a game to pick whole eggs out of a sandbox. John and I ran the tombola and there was a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses. We raised more than £300 which I think was pretty good. We were visited by County Council Chairperson Pauline Charlton and her consort, her daughter. The Community Garden is co-ordinated by another Paula, – a fantastic lady who’s standing next to Pauline Charlton.
